odysseus in America

This talking about all the guys in war that have talked about it. There talking about being discharged just like paul. He got to go home, and see his family but then he came back. so this is similar. The fireman stay and on the ground and the pilates are in the air. This is what they study and are out there for. Paul he was a fireman or groundman. He fought with a weapon on the ground floor. It it telling you all the things that happen at war and what people are feared of. I think this related to Paul and his friends in All Quiet on the western front. Your just fighting against men like you that are killing men for no reason. Paul explains that in the novel. He kills the man that has a family to go home to just like him.

driving to the funeral

1. She states that car crashes are the number one death from 15-20 year olds. "in Massachusetts alone, one third of 16-year-old drivers have been involved in serious accidents."
2. "It’s become a sad rite of passage in many American communities, the services held for teenagers killed in auto accidents before they’ve even scored a tassel to hang from the rearview mirror." "Perhaps the only ones who wouldn’t make a fuss are those parents who have accepted diplomas at graduation because their children were no longer alive to do so themselves, whose children traded freedom and mobility for their lives."
3. People would think about her argument because she writes for a major company. "Soccer field, Mickey Ds, mall, movies.Of course, if that’s the rationale, why not let 13-year-olds drive?"
4. I think she was very persuasive. i mean i agree but i am still glad i have a license and i dont want to give it up. She might convince some teen drivers to watch out and be more careful. Prabably all of the parents with children that are going to drive one day. After reading this tehy are going to think differently about the roads and driving situations. Also the driving people. It shows that they might need to increase the driving test so they are accually good drivers when they start to drive on there own.

baghdad burning

This is a young girl who is the narrator, she is in Syria with her family. She is originally from Iraq and they were over here for vacation. But some things got out of line. She was explaining how they had to see everyones visa card because they werent trusted. They got caught in a huge lie to cross the border, to back into Iraq. She didnt think they were ever going to see it again because they might not let them back in. They didnt get in, so they were stuck in Syria until they could find away back home. She hates the war, and everything that is happening is because of this war between the two counties. She thinks they are in trouble.

CYOA

The differences from a regular story, and these stories is cool. I like the way these stories are writen because you have like 2 different ways to go, and it kind of shows that your in the story, because you get to make the decision. A regular story just keeps going on, page after page but these are different. It also stops each page showing some sort of suspense, or cool information. I like the way these stories are writen, i wish we got to read stories like this because its alot more interesting to me. You get to use your imagination instead of reading what is eactly writing, or exactly what you have to write.
